In Search of Serenity

I am in search of serenity! You? Either way, thank you for being here gentle reader! Before diving into this week’s post, here’s a bit about me. And, if you are seeking weekly, colorful paintings in your inbox (yay!), you can sign up here.

Onward to take a look at this week’s painting.

Where is Serenity

Well, all you meditators out there will tell me that serenity is right here in the present moment. Right? Still there are times when a place generates that feeling, too. And, that’s what this week’s painting is all about.

In Search of Serenity, the painting, is set at the end of Topsail Island, North Carolina. And, on Wednesday this week, there was a big celebration. Why? Because one year ago this month, the non-profit, Coastal Land Trust, bought the “Point” at the end of Topsail Island. Among many other things, this means this beautiful view is preserved for all of us.

Here’s the 4×7 inch painting in gouache, matted in an 11×14 archival mat and framed. Yes it’s for sale for $100. Contact me here if you’re interested.

Shazam I am so grateful that this beautiful spot and its views, birds, and more are preserved! If you are thinking of visiting this spot and have never been, go! It’s an easy 2 hour-ish drive from Raleigh. And, you can even find public parking and beach access near the Point, if you just want to go for the day!

OK onward to other colorful news!

Thank You

First, thank you to everyone who came to the two shows I was in last weekend. It was so much fun to see you and to have my work on view.

It was also heartening to have my paintings on view with so many other talented, friendly and hardworking artists. And, thank you for collectors who buy my work, too. Pinch me I feel so very grateful!

What’s Next

If you’re wondering what’s next, I have lots of work in the works. Why? Well, first, I have another Art Opening at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, VA coming up on Friday, May 15 from 5pm to pm. And, like last time, I will be doing an art give away at 6:30pm that evening.

To enter the art giveaway, visit my gallery wall, fill out your name and contact info and pop it in the box there. Please mark your calendars for Friday, May 15th and stop by. You will be delighted, I promise!

In other art show news, I’m collaborating with several, wonderful painters, a poet and some fantastic local non-profits on a show in Raleigh later this year. Stay tuned about that.

So of course, now I’m wondering how you are?

How About You

So please share where you find serenity these days, gentle reader? And, if you think of it, let me know if there’s something here in this blog and/or about my painterly world you would like me to share here (process, products, etc). I am grateful for your feedback!
