Sound Side Glow
What is Sound Side Glow? I’m excited to share that with you this week. But first, here’s a bit about me. And, if you are seeking weekly, colorful paintings in your world (and why not, right?), you can sign up here.
Onward to take a look at this week’s painting.
Favorite Time
This week’s painting reflects my favorite time of day at the beach. And, that time is just before sunset. It’s particularly enjoyable on the sound side of Topsail. Why? We were facing west and got to see every second of that late day glow.
Here’s the painting. It’s two feet by four feet and painted in oils on gallery wrapped canvas. What does that mean? It just means the painting is all ready to hang and does not require a frame.

Where Can You See Sound Side Glow
You can see this big beauty on my gallery wall starting this Saturday at Crossroads Art Center 2016 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA. It’s for sales for $1000.
When: Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Bonus: I will be demonstrating my painting process while there.
Double Bonus: I will be doing a drawing for one of the five paintings behind at 2:00 PM. Stop by in person, and fill out a chance to win your choice of one of the paintings on view behind me in this picture.
See you Saturday?

What’s New With You
Do you have a favorite time of day at the beach, gentle reader? Is is different from my favorite time of day at the beach? Either way, I would love to hear from you. Share your best beach view memories and stories in the comments below.

So lovely, Julie! You’ve captured the light so well! It looks just like that moment right before the sun sets; very sparkly and luminescent. I love that time of the day at the beach, too. It’s so relaxing just to hang out and look at the sunset after a day of swimming at the beach. Have a wonderful time in Richmond this Saturday! xoxo
Hi Alexandra, TY for your lovely “seeing” of this painting. We have to meet at the beach to actually have a moment like this some dayyyy! xoxoxo
Fantastic! This is a stunner, Julie. The blues are beautiful at the top of your post and then … the entire painting is alive with that magical time of day: l’heure bleu as the French say!
Thank you Beth! It is a magical time of day and I love the French perspective and quote you shared. xoxoxo
Wow, Julie!!!!! I believe the this is my favorite painting of yours!!!!!!!!!! So beautiful!!!!!
