Enjoy the View

Why enjoy the view? Holy Moly I can’t wait to share thoughts on this. But first, if you are new here and seeking weekly, colorful paintings in your world (and why not, right?), you can sign up here.

Onward to take a look at this week’s painting.

Set Up for Enjoying the View

As someone who enjoys face-to-face interaction with people, working “shifts” at Gallery 20 in downtown Raleigh is fun. And, I love painting in this new spot. Why? I guess I enjoy mixing up the view every now and then. You?

Here’s where I painted this week’s painting. You can see the flowers that I painted. And, directly behind those flowers are wonderful paintings by Gallery 20 member, Caprice McNeill. Her work is beautiful! Stop by Gallery 20 and see it in person. Gallery hours are extended to 6:00PM on Thursdays and till 8:00PM on First Fridays.

Meantime, Around the Corner

With so much doom and gloom, wars, unrest, elections and uncertainty looming around the corner, it seems enjoying what’s in front of you (me) might be the solution? Here’s this week’s painting “Enjoy the View” painted in gouache on 8×8 inch Magnani 1404 Italia Paper (oooh la la). I love the nubby texture of this paper made of cotton and how it plays with the velvety smooth, dense pigment of Turner Acryl Gouache. I may hang onto this one for now. If you really really want it, it’s available for $1000. HA! Serious inquiries can reach me about sale for $100 here.

How About You

How are you enjoying the view these days, gentle reader? If you have any suggestions or helpful ideas, please do tell here. It would be fab to hear from you and who knows, you might help with a coping mechanism we can all use, eh?
