Meet at the Beach
Why meet at the beach? Good grief why not meet at the beach, right? But, before reading on, if you want more information about me, check here.
And, if you are seeking weekly, colorful paintings in your inbox (yay!), sign up here. On to this week’s paintings. There are three!
Too Early to Meet at the Beach
Maybe it’s a bit too early to meet at the beach, right? And, that is exactly why I start thinking about the beach this time of year. The allure and lure of the sunny, warm days of the beach start calling my name. So, that’s why I paint the beach. And, these are both paintings from my imagination. I also am including a Master Copy of Emil Carlsen’s beautiful view of the beach.
So, at least if I can’t go to the beach right now, I can imagine it. And, I shouldn’t really complain. It’s pretty mild here in North Carolina right now. In fact, today it’s down right warm.
Anyway, here’s your virtual view of the beach! Image 1 is 7×5 inches painted in oils on panel. Image 2 is a painting I copied by Emil Carlsen. Painting this serene beach scene helped me think differently about clouds. I could actually see the top (sunny), side and bottom of the clouds in this painting. And, that’s what’s so fab about doing these copies. And, image 3 is another beach scene but I shifted the focus from the sky to the waves and sand. It, like image 1, is 7×5 inches on panel. None of these are for sale right now. But images 1 and 3 will be framed and ready for purchase at the Forest Park Art Walk in April.

What About You
What’s happening in your world, gentle reader? Have you got a hankering to head to the beach? Or maybe February generates a different kind of hankering for you? If it does, do tell. I look forward to hearing from you in the comments.

Such different imaginings of the beach. The range of colors makes me want to pay closer attention when I’m next at the beach. Very tantalizing and each beautiful in its own way.
Hi Beth, TY I love doing these colorful views of the beach. xoxo
Now I want to go hunker down at the beach. :))
On another note, thank you for my holiday card…still makes me smile! I hope to put out some MailArt sometime in this new year…I will add you to my list. xo
Hi Leslieeee, We should hunker and paint at the beach together sometime (spouses optional – ha!!!)
You are so very welcome for the holiday card. I look forward to sending (and receiving) new versions in the future! xo back at youuuu
