Achooo
Do you achooo? Me too! Ha! I will share more shortly. But, before reading on, if you want more information about me, check here.

Achooo and Sniff and Sneeze
I have talked to so many people here who have ended up with the flu this season (even with the flu shot). We have been pretty ok and have dodged it so far. But I am experimenting with some ideas and new(ish) materials right now. So I set up the objects in this week’s painting as a tribute to all those who might still be sniffing, achoooing and sneezing. And, as a way to get comfortable with some new processes and ideas that are percolating in my mind.
Here this sweet painting, it’s a 6×6 inch ink pen and acrylic painting on hardboard. It’s for sale for $50 and you can contact me here to purchase.

How Are You
Are you experimenting with any new ideas or approaches in your craft? If you are, please do share in the comments here. I would love to hear all about it. Take care and take it easy out there too.

Love it! But don’t want a permanent reminder of the start to this new year. Am in week 3 still dealing with residual flu symptoms. And yes I got vaccinated in September 🤪
Hi Patty!! Oh boy I hadn’t thought of this as a “permanent flu reminder.” Gah!!! What a bummer that you still have lingering symptoms too. Ugh! Get well soon and hope to catch up for coffee when that happens!!! xoxo
The colors and patterns in this painting are so fun. I especially like the crimson box of tissues. Love a honey bear too. So, despite the inspiration for this it’s a burst of colors that make me smile. Curious about the experiment. Share more!
Hi Beth, Yay I’m glad you like the colors here. I’m experimenting with layers in painting. Inspired by another local painter, Dawn Marie Rozzo. She uses charcoal, acrylic and then oils in her beautiful paintings. I’m using a Bic Ink pen here and then acrylics. On larger paintings I’ll add another layer in oils. Stay tuned and TY for reading along, as always!!! xoxoxo
I love this construction feel, and of course, the colors are lovely, but the honest nature of the background and pencil showing through really work for me. This just looks like it was FUN.
Hi Denise, Ya buddy, it was fun! I’m ready for some of my paintings to feel that way … instead of all the “rules” and “requirements” of art school a few years ago (important but far enough in the rear view mirror – thank goddess – that it’s time to start breaking the rules). Yahoo! And, your sharp eye, painter pal, sees the “construction” which is something I love seeing in other people’s paintings, too. Need to see what’s going on in your world, eh? (wink wink nudge nudge)!!! xoxoxo
