Meet the Painters

Julia Einstein

Julia Einstein is an artist based in Raleigh, where her work is in the Municipal Art Collection. As the Artist in Residence at Raleigh City Farm, she has aligned her studio practice with its growing season, an inspiration for her flower icon paintings.

Her paintings below are part of a series first exhibited in a large grid as part of Bloom at the Pocket Gallery in Raleigh. Each painting is 6×6 inches painted in oils on canvas, ready to hang and for sale for $100 each. Follow Julia on Instagram here.

Jean Grunewald

Jean Grunewald has been painting (and teaching how to make) beautiful paintings, murals, plein air, portraits her entire life and it shows. Her (award-winning) paintings exude her warm and friendly personality with each brush stroke. Here are two examples of her beautiful work. The first is an oil pastel of the NC Museum of Art. It’s 8×10 inches, framed and for sale for $150. The second is an 11×14 oil painting of Falls Dam, framed and for sale for $150. Contact Jean here.

Julie Dyer Holmes

Julie Dyer Holmes is a fine artist who paints outdoors from her mobile studio as she travels, camps and hikes. Whether she’s two hours away at the NC coast or all the way up north in Raleigh, Newfoundland, she loves to capture sunny, subtle moments and magical memories from the road. Her two paintings here are closer to home; A Blue Sky cloud painting and a Subtle Sea and Sky painting of the NC Coast. Each painting is 5×5 inches, painted in oils on Arches Oil paper, matted in an 11×14 archival mat and for sale for $50. Follow Julie on Instagram and sign up for her colorful, weekly blog.

Dawn Marie Rozzo

Dawn Marie Rozzo intertwines painting, gardening and reclaiming materials in her art practice. Since childhood, she has been immersed in her garden and the local landscape. She has also long been interested in things that are hidden or altered by time. Her art practice explores both these concerns.

Her paintings here are watercolor and charcoal on panel. Each painting has a sawtooth hook, ready to hang and is for sale for $50. Subscribe to Dawn’s Weekly Substack here and follow her on Instagram here.
