Cadillac Mountain View

Greetings from Cadillac Mountain View. Where is this view? I can’t wait to share.

But first, if you’re new here, welcome! Each week I share a painting, sketch or study. My hope is that what I draw or paint might delight and inspire you. Sign up here to receive these colorful painting posts in your inbox.

The Setting

We just arrived in Sullivan Maine this week. What a beautiful spot! So many birds, clouds, woods, hills, mountain and ocean views to see.

Here’s the set up for the painting. Funny story: I totally lost track of time while paintings this. And, the tide got so high, I couldn’t walk back to our nearby campsite. Oh well. I just kept on painting till the tide receded.

Cadillac Mountain is wayyy off in the distance in this painting. But it’s the highest peak on the east coast of the US and located in Acadia National Park here in Maine.

Painting of Cadillac Mountain

This painting was a bunch of fun to paint. Otherwise, I probably would have paid more attention to time and tides, right? Here it is. It’s 8×8 inch gouache painting on paper. It’s for sale for $85 including free shipping. Just contact me here and I’ll make sure to get it to you.

Another New Artist Meeting

I am also excited to share, just like last week, that I met a new artist! This time, I ventured over to Deer Isle, Maine on Saturday. So many wonderful shops and galleries there. But! My favorite was Summerall Gallery owned by Fine Artist, Jennie Summerall. Her gallery includes beautiful paper collages that look so painterly and beautiful. Here’s an example of one of her collages called Sleeper and Deer. It’s all handmade paper and yet, to me, looks exquisitely painterly. If you find yourself near Deer Isle Maine, visit her gallery located at 13 Bridge Street Deer Isle, ME 04627.

How Are You
