The Bounty of Fall
I love seeing colorful leaves on the ground during my daily walks this time of year. This week’s whimsical and fun painting captures the image of one of these leaves; a maple leaf. I had no idea that Canadians see their maple leaf as a symbol of harmony and resilience. I loved learning this! Here’s this week’s painting; it’s 6×6 inches and painted in gouache on panel. It’s for sale for $45 + $3.26 sales tax + $15 shipping = $63.26. To make it your very own, simply click on this PayPal link.

Ever Mindful
I’m ever mindful of the upheavel of many people and places I know and love in Western NC including Penland School of Crafts. This amazing craft school was a haven from day job world for me in the 1990s. I met so many wonderful, generous and creative people there; many of whom continue to work as potters. Here are names of a few that I admire who live or who have family in western North Carolina: Suze Lindsay, Ronan Peterson, Leah Leitson, Cynthia Bringle, Gay Smith and Nick Joerling.

Wonderful painting. Love the color(s) and the sense of movement in the leaf. It’s almost as if it’s floating from a cloud.
Thanks for the links to relief funds. That helps us make a donation.
Hi Beth,
Thank you!!! It felt cloud-like as I painted it. xoxo
Lovely!
Hi Jeannette,
TY for sharing your beautiful yellow fabric with me! It’s so much fun to use in this painting and others I have in progress, too. xoxo
